This project was a little difficult due to some language and trauma barriers, but with the help of my father, I finished the project in time. The materials used to make the project was a shirt, a pare of used jeans, sowing tools and details of the trauma that occurred with my step father. The trauma takes place somewhere in Texas in an unknown date, when my step father went inside a gas station to buy some snacks for his trip back to his work. Suddenly, A drunken white man , in his forties, pulled up in a ford with a confederate flag on the back of his car and got out to get more beer. when he entered and got the stuff, my step-father was already outside to get in his car and getting his things ready, while the white guy was fighting with the lady in the cash register. he later got out in a rush, got in his car and it is not known if he purposely hit my fathers car or on accident, but then he got out of his car and started screaming at him for " supposedly "hitting his car. My step dad later got out of the car to deescalate the situation, but the man got aggressive and started shouting mean and racist things to my father, when suddenly, he let outs a punch towards my step dad. My dad takes the hit, but comes with a haymaker, making the guy step back, trip and fall to later hit his head on the pavement. My dad was arrested after that due to the lady in the cash register who called the police and stayed in jail for about 3 months. Although, he went to court and was later found innocent, due to video, and witness evidence. This happened around ten years ago and still leaves a scare on my step dad to this day. The jeans represent the mental health of my step dad until it got ripped by the trauma he faced with the other man. However, the scars healed with the help of family, friends, and forgiveness. That is how my project connects towards my father's trauma and healing.
